Program Description

Our summer camp program is designed for students ages 7 to 16 who range from beginner to black belt. Each one-week program will include 15 hours of kung fu training taught by Mark Carletti (PhD, Tufts University) and Karen Gutterman along with other instructors. With hard work, focus and dedication to practice, a student can accomplish in one week what would normally take one to two months in regular classes during the school year. Students will enjoy themselves with fun activities that develop better focus and concentration; that increase physical coordination, flexibility and confidence; and that help teach patience, respect and discipline.

Sample Day at Summer Program – 3 hrs
9:30 Arrive for lesson
9:40 Warm up
9:55 Extra stretching
10:10 Jumping drills
10:30 Kicks and jump kicks
10:45 5 minute fun drill
10:50 15 minute break (drink and snack)
11:05 Forms
11:30 Weapons
11:55 Rolls and cartwheels
12:10 Games (or obstacle course)
12:30 End lesson, prepare to be picked up

Fees & Registration

Requirements for Each Session:

Weeks 1 and 5 are the only weeks open to new students. Weeks 2, 3 and 4 are open to students who are Yellow Belts or higher.

Week 6 is an advanced week, open to students who are Blue Belt Star or higher.

Current and Former DSMA Students:

One week session = $275/week, additional weeks = $260/week


One week session = $290/week, additional weeks = $275

* Note: Week 2, July 2-3 and 5-6 = $215 for 4-day week *

No refunds will be given after June 15, 2018. Refunds before that date will have a $50 processing fee. All sessions are subject to cancellation if the minimum registration of 10 students is not met. If a session is cancelled, payments will be refunded. Maximum class size is set at 22.
